Race to Learn wins BETT 2010 award for Primary Digital content
Cambridge University Press and Williams F1 have jointly won the 2010 BETT Award for Primary Digital Content with cross-curricular Primary teaching resource, Race to Learn.
The product, which uses Formula One as an exciting point of engagement for primary school children, provides cross-curricular learning for Year 5 & 6 pupils through 12 half-days of teaching in many subject areas. It uses a range of multimedia content including real Formula One footage to promote individual and group working.
Winning the 2010 BETT Award for Primary Digital Content, Race to Learn was commended by the judges for "superb activities that are highly engaging for children" and "with helpful teacher introduction and age-appropriate activities, Race to Learn is a well thought through support for cross-curricular learning."
Designed for interactive whiteboards, Race to Learn covers key curriculum topics – Science, Maths, Literacy, Geography, PSHE, Design & Technology, Physical Education – with each one linked to the relevant National Curriculum/Framework objectives. More on Race to Learn.
Cambridge expands its English as a Second Language portfolio
Cambridge University Press has acquired around 40 titles from Georgian Press's popular list of English as a Second Language and English Language Teaching resources.
These titles will complement and build on the Press's established and highly successful publishing for English as a Second Language for international examinations and learners. Cambridge is already one of the most popular publishers of English Language Teaching and a market leader in IGCSE learning resources for University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE).
The acquired list contains popular titles like Success International: English Skills for IGCSE by Marian Berry, which are aimed at those teaching and studying IGCSE English as a Second Language. There are also revision and practice test materials for IGCSE in Listening and Speaking as well as Reading and Writing.
