Minute books, photographs, building plans, financial records, printing ledgers, art work, press cuttings, and author correspondence files give evidence of the people and changing technologies of Cambridge University Press. These records are all held at Cambridge University Library and the online catalogue, which describes the records and gives you the references needed for requesting original documents, is available at the link on the right.

Janus is the single point of networked access to catalogues of archives and manuscript collections held throughout Cambridge.

To understand how the records are arranged and catalogued, it is important to recognise that they fall within various categories and it may be necessary to search in more than one place to find the information you require. Some records relating to the early years of the Press are found within the University’s own records, and later they are organized within a distinct Press archive.
