Darwin200 is a national programme of events celebrating Charles Darwin’s scientific ideas and their impact around his two hundredth birthday on 12 February 2009.
Cambridge University will be the centre of celebrations for Darwin’s Bicentenary in 2009 Leading figures in science and the arts will come face to face with each other and the public. There will be talks, discussions, performances, workshops, exhibitions and tours and much more.
Based at the Cambridge University Library, which houses the largest single collection of Darwin's manuscripts, including an online database containing the complete, searchable texts of around 5000 letters written by and to Charles Darwin.
Contains Darwin's complete publications, thousands of handwritten manuscripts and hundreds of supplementary works: biographies, obituaries, reviews, reference works and more.
